About Chemical Peeling

Chemical peels are safe and effective treatment for the face that removes the first few layers of skin to encourage regrowth that is smoother, younger-looking, and more elastic.

They are best used to treat skin issues such as discoloration, scarring, and hyperpigmentation, as well as wrinkles and fine lines. There are different levels of chemical peels that penetrate the skin differently and can be more effective.

This is a fantastic and non-invasive treatment option to improve the appearance of your skin and help you feel more confident with a refreshed, new layer of skin that appears once you've healed from the treatment.

Acne Peel

Before starting a chemical peel, we'll go over your medical history to ensure that your skin is in proper condition to be treated. If you have received certain treatments or taken specific medications that make your skin more sensitive, we may need to delay treatment.

Scars Peel

Your appointment may last anywhere from 30-90 minutes. The technician will apply a chemical solution to your skin via a cotton applicator or gauze, and use a cool compress to soothe the treated skin afterwards. It's normal to feel a stinging or burning sensation.

Roseacea Peel

After the chemical peel has been completed, your skin will be red, dry, and irritated for a short period of time. It may take up to 7 days for any swelling and redness to subside, and you may consider using petroleum jelly to soothe the treated area.

  • Are chemical peels safe on aging skin?

Yes! We have two types of chemical peels that are specifically formulated for aging skin.

    Firming

As we age, our skin naturally begins to lose its elasticity and firmness. By using a firming chemical peel, we will be able to force the skin to treat itself and produce new collagen, resulting in younger-looking skin that is more firm and has more elasticity. This can also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

    Anti-aging

Our anti-aging chemical peels specifically target older, more delicate skin. It is a lighter chemical solution that causes less stress on the skin while still reducing the appearance of aging by encouraging new cell growth. It can help with fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, and improve the overall appearance of your skin.

  • Can they help with acne?

Absolutely. Chemical peels are excellent for reducing the appearance of acne scars, treating acne, and helping with hyperpigmentation.

We have two types of chemical peels that are specifically formulated to help with acne-affected skin (and skin that is affected by other skin conditions).

    Acne

Our acne chemical peel has been specifically formulated to treat all types of acne, and everything from small acne spots to deep-pitted scars. Because this type of peel deeply penetrates the skin, it takes off more top layers in order to repair more of the skin, resulting in smoother-looking, acne-free skin.

    Rosacea

Our rosacea peels target redness that occurs as a result of this skin condition. It can treat not only rosacea, but also a combination of other skin conditions including severe acne, fungus, and seborrhea.

  • Are chemical peels good for rejuvenating my skin?

They sure are. We have two types of chemical peels that are great for helping with skin cell rejuvenation in the face to encourage new collagen growth and better-looking skin.

    Antioxidant (Ferulac)

The ferulac peel system is great for all types of skin. Ferulac acid is an antioxidant that can be found in the cell walls of many types of organic compounds including rice and wheat, and it seeks out and destroys the particles that can cause negative effects on your body and skin.

    Brightening

Our brightening chemical peels in Miami, Florida will improve the appearance of your skin and make the newest layers brighter, smoother, and more youthful-looking once your skin heals.

  • What are the side effects of a chemical peel?

Depending on the type of chemical peel you receive for treatment, you may experience one or more of these side effects to varying degrees.

However, rest assured that chemical peels are a safe treatment.

    • Redness
    • Dryness
    • Itchiness
    • Burning sensation
    • Slight swelling

In more extreme cases, more serious side effects include long-lasting redness and more severe swelling, skin discoloration (particularly with deep chemical peels and those with darker skin tones, however, this is not common), and very rarely, infection (particularly those with the herpes virus - that which causes cold sores).

While the extreme side effects of a chemical peel are certainly scary to read about, they are very rare and our experienced team will be able to discuss with you any concerns about receiving this treatment before booking.

We also provide full-body laser hair removal in Miami, which offers very minimal side effects.
