Discover the Power of a Carbon Laser Peel

Carbon laser peels are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures due to their wide range of benefits and relatively short recovery time. This procedure is perfect for those who want to improve the appearance of their skin without having to undergo surgery or endure a long recovery process.

So what do you need to know before treatment? Keep reading to find out!

What is a Carbon Laser Peel?

A carbon laser peel is a type of facial that uses laser energy to exfoliate the top layer of skin. This peel can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, age spots, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

The carbon laser peel works by directing short pulses of light energy into the upper layers of the skin. The heat from the laser energy will cause the upper layers of skin to peel off, revealing the fresh and healthy skin underneath.

What are the Benefits of Carbon Laser Peels?

There are many benefits associated with carbon laser peels, including:

  • Minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reducing the appearance of acne scars
  • Decreasing pore size
  • Improving uneven skin texture
  • Stimulating collagen production
  • Enhancing skin tone
  • Giving the skin a radiant glow

In addition, this treatment is often used in combination with other cosmetic procedures such as
Botox injections or dermal fillers to achieve optimal results.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for Carbon Laser Peels?

Most people are candidates for this treatment. However, you may not be an ideal candidate if you have darkly pigmented skin or active acne breakouts. Be sure to discuss your medical history with your doctor prior to treatment to ensure it’s right for you.

How Do You Prepare for a Treatment?

It is important to properly prep your skin before any type of cosmetic treatment in order to ensure optimal results. Prior to your peel, we recommend that you:

  1. Avoid sun exposure: This means no tanning beds, sunbathing, or prolonged outdoor activities without sunscreen for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
  2. Stop taking certain medications: If you are taking any blood thinners or retinoids (acne medication), please discontinue use at least 2 weeks before your treatment as these medications can increase your risk for bruising and bleeding.
  3. Arrive with clean skin: Be sure to arrive with a clean face free of makeup, oils, and other products as these can interfere with the treatment process.
  4. Do not shave: If you typically shave your face, please do not shave at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment as this can also increase your risk for bruising and bleeding.

What to Expect After a Treatment?

After your treatment, you may experience temporary redness or swelling in the treated area. These side effects usually subside within 24 hours. You should avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen when outdoors to protect your skin from further damage. You should also avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after your treatment so that your skin can heal properly.

Within one week following treatment, you should see noticeable improvements in the appearance of your skin with continued results over time with additional treatments. For best results, multiple treatments may be recommended spaced four weeks apart until desired results are achieved.
